Real Time Alerts

Live CAP (Common Alerting Protocol) alerts are provided in near real time by GDACS (The Global Alert and Coordination System) with zoom to location and links.

Please click on the Real-Time Alert to zoom to the location in the map and get more information displayed.

If you want to see details from the original Alert provider (GDACS) please click on the Link in the text displayed.

Interactive Google maps

You can navigate (move your view) in two dimensions in any Google Map. To pan (move the map), do one of the following:

• Click and drag the map
  
• Click the up arrow to move north
• Click the down arrow to move south
• Click the right arrow to move east
• Click the left arrow to move west

• Click the + to zoom in
  
• Click the - to zoom out.
  

Move the cursor over a location and use the mouse scroll button to zoom in or out on that location.

Views

Google maps provides different views.

• Hybrid - mix between satellite and map
• Map - classic map
  
• Terrain - basic topographic features
  
• Satellite - high resolution satellite images
• Earth (requires Google Earth Plug-In) - offers globe viewing features

Zoom to ... Countries

To get quickly to a specific country in the map please use the 'Zoom to' functionality and click on the tiny arrow to get a list with countries displayed.

Click on the relevant country to get a close up view of it on the map.

Country pages

Click on a country on the interactive map page to get a display of filtered data about your selected country.

You can select and view, print, email, download, modify the content from

• Contacts
• Calendar
• Events
• New Documents
  
• Links (providing interactive access to relevant websites for the country - if you are online)
  
• Country Facts (providing basic and general information about the country).
