Documents - Select and display record (document details / bibliographic information)
Select a relevant title from the result list and click on it to get more bibliographic information displayed which follows international standards.
The button 'More Details' (in the bottom of the window) enhances the bibliographic information displayed.
Documents - Button - 'View Document'
If you click the Button ‘ View Document’ the content of the
document will be displayed as HTML – the fastest access and it
corresponds well in cases of narrow bandwidth.
The display of the HTML has three tiny buttons at the top right corner of the window. The buttons let you:
- Open the document in a new tab or window
- Enlarge / Re-size the window
- Close the window.
Documents - Button - 'View Original Document'
The button ‘View Original Document’ displays the document in its
original format – mostly PDF. This format provides all functionalities
like Print, Save, Navigation, Search etc.
This format might take more time to open / load the document than the HTML mentioned above.
The display of the PDF document as mentioned above will have three tiny buttons at the top right corner of the window. The buttons let you:
- Open the document in a new tab or window
- Enlarge/Resize the window
- Close the window.
Documents - Button - 'More Details'
The button 'More Details' (in the bottom of the window) enhances the bibliographic information displayed.
Documents - Button - 'Listen to Audio'
The button 'Listen to Audio' allows you to listen to an audio file which reads the content of the document.
This is recommended for training purposes i.e. or for disabled people - whereas there are not yet many documents with audio files in the portal.
If there is no audio file you will get a note displayed - as shown below.
Documents - Button – 'Send Link'
The button ‘Send Link’ allows you to send a link and information of a document to somebody.
The Email field is linked into the PDN Contact information therefore it has an auto-completion functionality i.e for each letter you type in the field; the available terms are changed automatically.
You can also enter any other Email address that is not listed under the PDN Contact Information list to send your information and you can add some text for the message.
Documents - Button – 'Create New'
If you’re not a registered or logged in user you won't be able to add and upload documents or to edit information - but you will see the display below when you click the button ‘Create New’.

If you are a registered and logged in user (1) – with the sufficient user level - you are most invited to add documents and other content in PDN.
Please click the button 'Create New' (2) or use the Actions tab (left) and click the button 'Create New Document' there (3).
To create a new document - please use the button 'Browse' (4) to get the relevant file and the button 'Upload' (5) to provide the document.
Please fill the relevant fields - and confirm with the button 'Create'.
The new document will be reviewed and released before it is available.
Documents - Button - 'Edit'
The button and functionality 'Edit' is for the Administrator logged in only - you will see the display below when you click the button.
