Background  
TRCS est. 1981; not an NGO!……
It is recognised by Law [Tuvalu Red Cross Society Act, Cap 
103] as  
a voluntary aid society, 
auxiliary to the Government of Tuvalu in the 
humanitarian field, in accordance with the 1949 
Geneva Convention, and
as the only National Red Cross Society, which may 
carry out its activities in Tuvalu.
