Expect more cyclones
Monday, December 21, 2009
MORE cyclone activities for the Fiji group are expected in January 2010, says
the director of the Fiji Meteorology Department, Rajendra Prasad.
He said the weather had now stabilized after Mick. "It's beginning to warm up
now and there will not be any major rainfall for the next few days," he said.
Mr Prasad said El Nino conditions could still dominate until the end of the year.
"But we still expect cyclone activity," he said.
He said it had been an early cyclone season for Fiji this year with Mick striking in
December and not January, which was considered "the danger month".
