Assessment of Progress to Date, Discussion
of any new Issue Arising

5.1 Workstream 1 (WS1): EIA Regulations/ Codes of Environmental
Practice

No Issues
5.2 Work Stream 2 (WS2):  (CIM Plans/Strategy, Sustainable
Management

This work stream is still behind schedule. The Si’umu District CIM
Plan should have been completed by now, and Western Savaii
work started, but this work was delayed pending completion of the
Final Inception Report. Time lost during the  delay should be made
up before the end of the year.
5.3 Work Stream 3 (WS3): (Natural Resources: GIS/aggregates

No issues

5.4 Work Stream 4 (WS4): Emergency/Disaster Management

An initial assessment of the hazard summaries prepared by the various
agencies concerned shows that more work is needed to fill remaining
gaps in information and validate some of the technical assumptions made.
Only a very limited risk assessment will be possible with the information
available. Recommendations as to how the level of hazard information
can be improved will be made by the project team next month.
