The Caribbean Risk Management Initiative (CRMI) has announced the launch of its
revamped website. This redesigned portal, available in three languages, is set to be a
clearinghouse and a knowledge platform for information related to disaster risk reduction
and adaptation for climate change in the Caribbean region.

The website hosts a variety of resources such as documents, articles, case studies,
technical reports and tools from across the region aimed at practitioners, policy makers
and specialists. The new website launches with thirteen newly available best practices
documents, featuring topics such as civil defence systems, early recovery, integrated
disaster management, risk evaluation and drought adaptation from countries as diverse as
Jamaica, Cuba, Bahamas, Dominican Republic, British Virgin Islands, Suriname and
Grenada. In addition, the website features news, event and announcements to encourage
closer engagement and reflection between climate scientists and disaster managers.

Help us build the document library! We can assist institutions with the dissemination of
information and knowledge in three languages through publications and this website. We
welcome suitable material for review, translation and further dissemination in the region.

CRMI's online presence strengthens its objective of building capacity and increasing
collaboration in the field of climate-related risks in the Caribbean. The Caribbean Risk
Management Initiative was created in 2004 by UNDP's Bureau for Crisis Prevention and
Recovery and has the support of regional governments and institutions. Support for the
website development has been provided by the UNDP-Spanish Trust Fund.
